ThinkPhi is a Mumbai-based sustainable technology company. Started in 2015, their first product, the Ulta Chaata is an outdoor shade that incorporates sustainable technology.[1]

Origin[edit]

ThinkPhi was founded by Samit Choksi and Priya Vakil Choksi. They were inspired by sustainable action in USA, UK and Singapore.[2]

Model 1080[edit]

Model 1080 is ThinkPhi’s flagship product, that’s designed by Priya Vakil Choksi, co-founder of ThinkPhi. The idea came to her after a water harvesting experiment at Mahalaxmi Racecourse, Mumbai with a drum-based water collector and purifier.[3][4] This experiment helped create Model 1080. An inverted umbrella that provides shade, harvests rainwater, and generates solar power.

It has a solar capacity of 2 kWp and a smart lighting system with self-lighting. Over 100,000 litres of water can be harvested annually and the inbuilt-filter provides accessible potable water. Model 1080 comes in three variations of 1080W, 1080E and 1080E+.[5]

Model 1080 has 4 granted patents and can be utilized in open spaces in smart cities. Model 1080 has been set up in car parking lots, outdoor cafes, parks, and metro stations, universities. It’s currently install on site owned by Godrej, Mahindra, GIC, Unilever.[6] It has also been installed at government and social projects. [7] [8]
