Thirsty Swagman

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Thirsty Swagman is a tour operator specializing in pub-themed and festival tours.

In 2008, the company started offering an "Around the world" pub crawl that visits 60 bars in 11 cities in 28 days.[1][2][3] According to a November 2007 article by United Press International, the Australian Medical Association called the tour plans "dangerous and irresponsible."[2][3] The round-the-world pub tour is scheduled to run again from 2020.[4]

In 2011, the company announced plans to offer beer tasting on sub-orbital spaceflights[5][6][7] from 2013, however with delays in availability of commercial space travel the tours are now planned from 2020. In partnership with space engineering firm Saber Astronautics Australia, Thirsty Swagman has promoted the testing and development of a certified space beer bottle on zero-gravity flights.[8]

Today the company specializes in beer festival tours to Oktoberfest in Munich and Cannstatter Volksfest in Stuttgart, as well as tours to Rio Carnival, La Tomatina in Spain and the Songkran festival in Thailand.

The company was founded by Kenneth Hart in April 2007, and is based in Perth, Western Australia.[9] with a subsidiary in Bavaria, Germany.
