Timeshifter

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Timeshifter is a jet lag app developed with Harvard Medical School Associate Professor Steven Lockley, Ph.D. Timeshifter is based on the latest research in sleep and circadian neuroscience. Timeshifter is combining elements that have each been shown to independently reset the circadian clock (light exposure and melatonin), or alleviate the symptoms (melatonin, caffeine, naps).

How it works[edit]

Timeshifter generates personalized jet lag plans based on the traveler’s sleep pattern, chronotype, flight plan, and optional preferences such as pre-travel adjustment or the use of melatonin for even faster adaptation. Timeshifter includes the following advice in a jet lag plan:

  • Light-dark exposure schedule
  • Melatonin treatment plan (optional)
  • Sleep and napping schedule
  • Low-dose caffeine use plan (optional)
