Tokalabs

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Tokalabs is an enterprise technology company headquartered in San Jose, Ca. Tokalabs enables clients to create Software Defined Labs (SDL) utilizing standards developed in the Software Defined Netoworking space and Openflow communities.

History[edit]

Tokalabs was officially launched in early 2017[1] after incubating in the labs of Allied Telesis for the previous two years. Originally developed just as an internal tool for the QA team, the solution was identified as a viable standalone product, resulting in the creation of a separate business unit to take the platform to market.

First customer shipment of the flagship product, LaunchStation, began in July of 2017 to large technology vendors in the enterprise datacenter space.

Products[edit]

LaunchStation - Lab Resource Manager for automating/orchestrating lab devices and tests.

Technologies:[edit]

Software Defined Lab (SDL):[edit]

Building on concepts found in Software Defined Networking environments, Tokalabs has developed systems and processes to abstract physical, virtual, and cloud based resources - purpose built for lab environments. SDL's entail dynamic reservation, scheduling, automation, and orchestration while reducing the need for human physical interaction (i.e. cabling, tear down, etc.).

Hybrid L1[edit]

The Tokalabs Hybrid L1 solution is the combination of a standard off-the-shelf L3 or L4 switch with proprietary Tokalabs software. The combination results in a network fabric with the L1 capability of passing traffic directly from port to port without the overhead or hops associated with L3 or L4. This direct pass through is a necessary feature for creating SDL's and typically comes at a significant cost premium in traditional enterprise L1 solutions.

Community[edit]

Allied Telesis is a member of the Open Networking community.
