Tony Flood
Tony Flood is a British author, playwright, and former journalist. He was born 7th September, 1943 in Romford, Essex
Career in journalism and television[edit]
After starting his career in journalism with the Lewisham Borough News, Tony Flood moved to the Kentish Times Series, where he later became Sports Editor. In between he had a spell as Sports Editor of the Slough Observer Series. He was also Sports Editor of the Lancashire Evening Telegraph and Star in Blackburn from 1979-1983, and upon returning to the South East, he worked part-time for the Sunday Express as a sub-editor.[1][2] As Head of Sport of Sunday Sport from 1986-1988, Flood's staff included England's World Cup winning football captain Bobby Moore.[3] He later worked for the Newsquest series of papers from 2002-2008, during which time he interviewed many showbiz stars as a theatre critic and writer.[4]
