Truweight is a privately-owned Indian health and weight management company founded in 2015. Based in Bangalore, India, Truweight offers weight loss and weight management through superfoods-based diet programs.

Founded by entrepreneurs Vishnu Saraf, and Megha More, Truweight works on the concept of weight loss through eating healthy. Since the target audience has largely Indian taste palate, so the Truweight has developed weight management diet based on Indian cuisine.

History[edit]

In 2012, Vishnu Saraf, an IIM alumnus and Megha More, a MDI, Gurgaon alumnus were running a women’s fitness club Identity, which is where they got the idea of setting up Truweight. The business concept came into being based on the health and diet queries they got from their clients who came to the fitness club. Saraf and More developed a diet based on what they called superfoods - ingredients that were part of age-old Indian recipes.

In fact, the duo have published two weight management through eating right books, "Why 80% of Dieters Fail! And How Can You Succeed?" and "Ultimate Guide To True Weight Loss"

Truweight concept[edit]

While researching on various diets, Saraf and More, zeroed in on the fact that eating certain types of food can keep you full, and help in weight loss at the same time. The foods, that were part of earlier Indian recipes, had slowly been replaced by more refined and processed ingredients.

They researched on foods like millets, quinoa, red rice, oats along with specific Indian herbs and spices, which had higher nutritional benefits. Termed as superfoods, these formed the basis of Truweight’s indigenous Superfoods Kits. Truweight today uses over 40 Superfoods to develop its weight loss programs.

The weight loss program starts with a detailed consultation with a certified nutritionist, who develops a dedicated diet chart based on health history and weight loss goals. The diet chart uses all the relevant superfood kits that Truweight has developed. The nutritionists act as health coaches for their clients, and offer constant support in the weight loss journey.

The program also helps people with weight management issues caused by diseases like diabetes, hypothyroidism, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
