UNIFONY

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Late 2015, producers minco eggersman and Theodoor Borger started the UNIFONY - project, in which they’re inviting guest musicians to find the pure essence of music with them. Together, they wander off the beaten track and rediscover purity by experimenting. Not composing music based on musical notes, but using carefully crafted layers of sound instead. For their first album, the producers invited Norwegian trumpet player Mathias Eick to join as a guest musician.

The album, which was released in the fall of 2018, has been mixed by the British studio engineer Phill Brown, known for his work with a wide range of artists like Brian Eno, Pink Floyd, David Bowie and Talk Talk. Although officially retired, Brown decided to give it a go one more time, since he was truly impressed with the project. He called it ‘a labour of love’. The mastering of the album has been done by none other than 11x Grammy Award winning mastering engineer Bob Ludwig (Radiohead, Nirvana, Paul McCartney, Madonna and many others).

UNIFONY is a tribute to the work ethic of earlier days; being able to spend time in an inspiring studio, using great instruments and high quality recording equipment without constant pressure. Theodoor’s studio was the place where these unique songs could grow. The method was recognized and appreciated by others which in the end led to Mathias, Phill, James and Bob joining forces. In the end, UNIFONY is the result of all this talent.
