Uday Shankar is an Indian actor who works in Telugu-language films. He is known for his role in the film Aatagadharaa Siva (2016).[1]
Career[edit]
At the age of 15, he entered the Guinness Book of World Records for repeating from memory thousands of numbers from a blackboard. He studied at Ambedkar University.[2]
Uday Shankar made his lead acting debut with Aatagadharaa Siva (2016) starring Kannada actor Doddanna after his father, a professor, contacted the film's producer Rockline Venkatesh.[3] Regarding his performance, a critic wrote that "Gajula Udayshankar, who is making his debut with this movie is decent in the role of a stone-hearted prisoner".[4] His next film was Mismatch (2019) starring Aishwarya Rajesh.[5] Regarding his performance, a critic wrote that "Uday Shankar on the other hand doesn’t have much scope to perform even if he’s not bad at his role".[6] His next film was the thriller Kshana Kshanam (2019), which had a low-key release. A critic wrote that "Hero Uday Shankar does a decent job as a desperate man. His performance in the scenes that showcase his helplessness after being caught in an unexpected murder case is good".[7] His next film was Nachindi Girl Friendu (2022). A critic wrote that "Uday Shankar, as Raja, comes up with a convincing and confident performance".[8]
