Personal life[edit | edit source]
Umesh Shukla was born on June 5, 1957. He completed his graduation degree in Bachelor of Laws and he is currently pursuing his career as lawyer. He is married to Archana Shukla and the couple has three children. His father, late Shree Srinivasa Shukla, was former Provincial Sanghachaalak of Mahokal Prant, a politician, social worker, writer, and a poet.
Career[edit | edit source]
Umesh Shukla was MLA from Chhatarpur_(Madhya_Pradesh_Assembly_constituency) from 1998-2003 for the Bharatiya Janata Party. He also contested but lost the Chhatarpur assembly seat in 1993 and 2003 elections. He became the President of Bundelkhand Development Authority  (Cabinet rank) in 2011-2003. He is also the district president of Chhatarpur district for two consecutive terms (2004-2008). Umesh Shukla is currently a member of the State Working Committee and is also in charge of Damoh district. Umesh Shukla is a senior member of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. His interest in politics goes back to University when he was the president of the student wing and also the district president of the Bharatiya_Janata_Yuva_Morcha.
