Early life & Background
Veena Arora was born in Amritsar, Punjab, on 23rd August 1975. Veena At the age of 22 was admitted to a hospital due to illness. Wrongful administration of an injection on her arm by the hospital staff resulted in internal infection with her arm requiring to be amputated immediately.
Career & Achivements
Veena finished 5th in discus throw at the Asian Para Games in 2014, before deciding to switch to Taekwondo. Her reason was simple, despite her event’s inclusion into the Para Asian Games, it was never a part of the Paralympics. Her first international event in Taekwondo was the 2016 Para Taekwondo Open Championship in Philippines where she won a bronze medal.
