Vinita Chatterjee is an Indian actor, singer, and producer.

Early life[edit]

Chatterjee [1] was born to an Army mother and a chemist father[2] in the small town of Sodepur, near Kolkata.

She was a child actor in a Bengali serial Tasher Ghor (House of Cards) alongside actors Tarun Kumar, Shankar Chakraborty and Koushik Banerjee.[3]

Career in media[edit]

She worked with CNN IBN[4] and was chosen as a VJ for Zee Networks. She also worked briefly as an English teacher in Vibgyor High International School, Mumbai.[3]

She played the role of Punjabi girl, Ritu in the Star Tv Network serial Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai,[5][4] being awarded the FICCI Awards[6] and Cinema Century Awards[4] for Best Actress Debut in 2013, after which she acted in several other television shows including Sony's CID.[4]

Chatterjee also performed with Shah Rukh Khan in the Mirchi Music Awards on Zee Tv. In 2016, she appeared in the role of a British girl, Carol Brown[4] in the Star TV series Membou[5][7] and received a Best Actor Jalsha Parivar Award for comedy from Star in 2017.[8][4]

She has performed in over 1500 shows as an anchor, and as a pop singer.[9]

She appeared in singer Shaan's music video "Tu Mera Rab Hai"[10]
