Wailing Wendy

"Wailing Wendy" or "Westend Wendy" is the name of an urban legend surrounding a mysterious presence spotted at the West-view Cemetery in West Atlanta. Legend has it Wendy Donaghy a teen somewhere between 15-18; was abducted and taken by her captor to the West-View Cemetery. She was then raped and murdered, left strung out against a grave stone. Her spirit is now said to move around the cemetery, warning others of the horrors that exist in this world. Ghostly apparitions, high pitched screams, cold pockets of air, sudden gust of wind, and low howls, have all been reported in first hand accounts of Wailing Wendy sightings

Criticisms

The story told in the legend does not match any police report filed since 1985. Two "Jane Does" found in the West View Cemetery were filed in 1984, many believe Wendy was one of the two. The name Wendy Donaghy does not match any public records in the city of Atlanta in 1984-1985.

The Atlanta police department has responded to the west view cemetery 23 Times in 2016 in regards to Wailing Wendy. 18 times in 2015.
