Werner Barasch

Werner Barasch (May 27, 1919-June 2, 2008) Born in Breslau, Germany which is now Wroclaw, Poland. Barasch was a holocaust survivor who grew up in a wealthy Jewish Family. Barasch's father founded the first mass merchandising department store in Eastern Germany.[1]

Early Life[edit]

Werner Barasch and his family moved to Berlin in 1921, he lived in a very nice house and received great education. In 1936, Barasch was a 17-year-old student studying in Switzerland. Barasch received a letter ordering his removal from the territory, the reason for the removal was an excess of foreigners. At the beginning of the war Barasch was arrested ans sent to Camp Ruchard for six months. [1]

Later in Life[edit]

In Werner Barasch's latter years he published a book by the name Survivor: Autobiographical Fragments 1938-1946.
