Wesley Henry
Wesley Henry is a new Mayoral Candidate of the city of Pickering, Ontario, Canada. He is married to Grace Henry, a high school teacher in the Toronto District School Board. He is also the father of three children -- Peter, a Lead Web Developer and part-time Instructor at University of Toronto (School of Continuing Studies), Akeel, a Gold-Award-Winning Music Producer, and Olivia, a York University student studying Business and Accounting. Wesley is the head Pastor and founder of House of Prayer Church (Canada) and author of two books: “Things You Should Know Before You Buy A Car” & “Breakthrough Prayer”.
Wesley moved from Toronto to Pickering in June 2007. He has dabbled in many things while being a pastor. He established and operated businesses, coached Basketball and Baseball, and is presently the head coach of a Track & field club in Durham Region. He has also written and recorded over 100 gospel songs and is a producer and co-owner of many 1960’s and 70’s Jamaican gospel hits by Gloria Bailey, Lucy Myers and Evangelist Higgins. He has three Youtube Channels with over one thousand videos. His main channel, “Old Time Gospel” includes his own works, recordings, and live performances of Services where he ministered. Wesley is confident that he is going to come out on top in the Mayoral race and has a platform which includes reducing property tax, building a baseball dome for youth to play and practice baseball during the winter, building a dome at the Pine Ridge Track for track & field, Soccer and football; creating infrastructure to improve and maintain Park trails in the winter, protect forests, farmlands and other natural resources; ensure safety precautions and measures are properly in place in relation to the Nuclear plant; addressing the issues regarding the proposed airport and increase jobs by lowering Commercial Property tax for new investors.
