History
Founded in 1941, Winchester Interconnect, previously known as Winchester Electronics, began making RF & Microwave connectors out of Watertown, Connecticut. In 1961 Winchester was acquired by Litton Industries Inc.[1] Under Litton Industries, Winchester was mostly known for their PCB connectors and rack and panel connectors. [2]
In 2001, Northrop Grumman acquired Litton and Winchester. In 2002, Winchester moved from Watertown to Wallingford CT. [3]
In 2006 Northrop Grumman sold Winchester to the Audax Group.[4] Under Audax’s ownership, the company made 13 strategic acquisitions that expanded their capabilities and their global footprint. In 2010 Kevin Perhamus became CEO.[5]
After 10 years with Winchester, Audax sold the company to Snow Phipps, another private equity firm.[6] In January 2018, Winchester Electronics rebranded and changed their name to Winchester Interconnect.
In July 2018, Aptiv, a vehicle component manufacturer and distributor acquired Winchester Interconnect. [7]
