Worlds Fastest Land Speed/Salt Racing Panelvan
On the 15th of March 2018 at 5.50pm on Lake Gairdner Salt Lake South Australia. Alan Lacey drove his 1989 Ford XF Falcon Panelvan to a class record breaking speed of 176.177 mph (283kph) (Class B/GC) i.e. "B" engine, 373 CI to 440 CI", "GC" Gas Coupe. See http://www.dlra.org.au rule book, modified production class and then scroll down to /GC. The van is fitted with a 408 CI Ford Cleveland V8 running on LPG. It recorded an average speed 176.177mph for a mile. The speed was recorded between the third and fourth mile markers on a 9 mile course.
