Childhood: She was born on August 24th, 1996 in the village of Jouret Badran, Keserwan District, Lebanon. She is the eldest daughter of Michel korkomaz and Dolly Traboulsy, and has a younger sister named Maria. Yara's passion for singing started at a very young age. She grew up in a family of artists, both her parents are in the music industry.
Career: She began her piano lessons at the age of 7 and started her professional career in 2016 with her mother's encouragement. Although her father was against her entering the music industry at the beginning, he soon changed his mind after seeing her making a successful debut in the media. She is also known for singing in different languages such as Arabic, Armenian, English, French, and Turkish. This has exposed her to many opportunities outside of her home country Lebanon. She started traveling, delivering concerts and performing private events abroad.
In 2016, Korkomaz released her first original song "Ouchak el atfal", which means “lovers of children”. This song was a message to stop wars and highlight the injustices children face during war. On August 6th, 2017, Yara released her first cover "Keda Ya Albi" by Sherine Abdel Wahad and was followed by the release of "Nancy Ajram Mazeej", a medley of many songs of the Lebanese artist Nancy Ajram. After that, she released a mashup of two songs, “Mashaer” by SherineAbdel Wahab and “Bathadda el Aalam” by Saber Al-Rubai. She released a cover of two songs, "Shou Helou" by Ziad Burji, and "Talat Daqat" by Abu. This cover was a paradigm shift for spreading quickly and widely in many countries. It reached more than 20 million views and was distributed on several platforms. In 2018, Yara released her second song, "Bhebek Ana," which was a duet with the artist Azeem. This song was also a quantum leap in Yara's career. It has achieved a wide and rapid spread, reaching over 50 million views so far on several platforms. Yara then released a cover of "Niyalou Albi" by Iyan followed by a duet "Kafy kheiry Sharry" with Azeem. She also covered “Ya bet Faker ya bet Hess” by Sherine Abdel Wahab, “Mamnounak Ana,” by Melhem Zein, and “Aarusa” Israa Al Aseel. In 2020, Yara released her most successful cover, combining the Turkish song “Mühür” and the khaliji song “Hala B rihat Haly”. This cover reached more than 20 million views and is still being distributed on many platforms. After that, she released a mashup cover with the Dutch actor and singer “Charly Luske” who had previously participated in the second season of “The Voice Holland”. Charlie and Yara combined Bruno Mars’ song “When I Was Your Man” and Adam's song “Aala Bali”. Yara released her own hymn, "Shta’et Zawaya El Mahbasi", to St. Charbel which increased the number of fans she has. Later during the same year, she released the cover of "Albi ya Albi" by the artist Nancy Ajram, and a mashup cover of two songs, "Inta Kol Shi", by the artist Aseel Hamim and "Al Hassas" by Hussein Al Jassmi. Yara's latest release is a duet song "Ma Fi Hadda" with Azeem and is in process of preparing an original song called "Bobsom bel Aashra" that will be released by the end of 2020.
