Yeonwook Choi
Yeonwook Choi 최연욱(최연욱 崔然旭, 1977 July 11 ~) is a painter, art historian and artist who introduce the beauty of Art to general people in Korea.[1] Major works are A lighthouse in Itacare 2012, Apple 2013. Publications in Korea are The Secret Museum 비밀의 미술관[2], 32 Must Know Facts For Van Gogh Lovers 반 고흐를 좋아하는 사람이라면 꼭 알아야 할 32가지[3], The Story of Art Forgery 위작의 미술사[4].
Biography[edit]
Yeonwook Choi was born July 11th 1977 in Seoul Korea. In 1993, he moved to Singapore with his family for father's dispatch, and attended at ISS International School of Singapore as 10th grade. He graduated in 1996.
With his talent in Mathematics and Computer Science, he designed and programmed School's Website in 1995. However, with art teacher's advice in 11th grade, he found his interest and talent in Fine Art, he applied to Marshall University in West Virgina, USA and got accepted. Yeonwook Choi studied drawing under Dr. Van Horn, painting under Professor Stanley Sporny, graphic design under professor Mary Grassel. After discharging from his military service in Korea for 2 years and 2 months, he returned to school and continued to study Fine Arts, and Religious Study under Dr. Jeff Ruff, and Art History under Dr. Susan Jackson. He was awarded on Dean's List consecutive years until graduation. Yeonwook Choi wrote an essay "Iconography of Virgin Mary in Ancient East Asian Art in 2002.
After graduation, Yeonwook Choi returned back home, started his profession as full time painter in 2005, participated several major exhibitions in Korea such as K-Artist Festa for 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. He was awarded from several Art Competitions in Korea. Yeonwook Choi is currently in charge of KFAA, Korea Fine Arts Association Gangwon Branch as the director.

Since 2007, Yeonwook Choi operate online community for visiting art exhibitions with generals. He also publishes and updates his own museum guide of the best art museums of the world on his Naver blog 'A Way To Museum 미술관 가는 길'.[5]
Since 2014, he publishes and updates behind stories and facts of great art works, artists in Art History, introducing ways to enjoy western arts on his Naver blog, "Michin Blog 미술과 친구 되는 미친블로그"[6]. Currently over 20,000 readers are subscribing.
