The ZaiTruck is a revamped futuristic ex-military custom-designed vehicle.The ZaiTruck is the product of an innovative marketing campaign[1] run by the founder of ZaiLab used to promote the use of their contact center software solutions.[2]

The ZaiTruck made its first appearance in September 18th 2017 in Cape Town, South Africa.[3] Built hand in hand with engineers, the ZaiTruck was built in an astounding 1 year and 4 months.[4] The original time frame given was 6 months. The Manufacturing process was captured by video footage and can be streamed online by their youtube channel. The ZaiTruck is now the official mascot for ZaiLab and has documented their various trips made throughout South Africa, Antarctica and the US where their travels was aired online.[5]

The futuristic design of the ZaiTruck was inspired by company's’ love for science fiction films such as Tron, 2001: A Space Odyssey and Star Wars. [6]Which has flowed over into ZaiLabs office design.

Features[edit]

Originally a 6x6 Man Kat 18-ton military vehicle, later stripped down to just the engine and chassis. The space truck is built to endure any terrain possible. It serves as an all-purpose, mobile laboratory, studio and office truck.[7] The ZaiTruck has the functionality of an RV & features of  SEMA vehicles. [8]

Engine[edit]

The ZaiTruck is powered by a Powered by a Magirus Deutz V10 diesel engine[9] and is equipped with four 125W solar panels that charge a 4-kWh deep-cycle battery.[10] The Zaitruck has the capacity to store 264 gallons of fuel on-board reaching its top speed of 88 kph.[11]

Customisations[edit]

The ZaiLab Truck is the first of its kind, leaving every aspect of the vehicle completely incomparable to any vehicle out there. The Zaitruck is equipped with four cameras; which displays footage on two 22-inch monitors which are on located on the left & right hand side of the driver to provide optimal visibility.[12] The ZaiTruck is a 12 seater, with six seats in the front cab, the driver in the front center and two passengers on either side of the driver and another 3 rows of two seats in the rear end of the vehicle. [13] Hydraulic cylinders are used to open the front cockpit. It also has a custom built capsule roof that raises 30 inches.[11] The Space- Inspired Truck comes equipped with a fully built in kitchen that stores 17 gallons of freshwater & greywater on-board.[11] It is equipped with a media centre that consists of a 55-inch screens, connected PCs, Sound systems & more.[11] The ZaiTruck features other custom designs as well, such as their high-tech custom-built touch screen Corvian-finished dashboard that is fully digitalized with unique software features.[11]

The designers of the ZaiTruck, ZaiLab claims that all the materials used for the truck is 97% recyclable.[10]
