3L: Language, Linguistics, Literature® is a Scopus indexed peer-reviewed international journal published in March, June, September and December by UKM Press. The educational journal is committed to exploring and highlighting issues in the broad areas of English language, linguistics and literature particularly in the Southeast Asian context. The publication body is a continuation of 3L The Journal of Language Teaching, Linguistics and Literature® formerly published by the School of Language Studies and Linguistics, which has had a record of active history in varsity publication since 1992.
Editorial Policies[edit]
Focus and Scope[edit]
The editorial board welcomes submissions that provide insights into key issues dealing with the English Language in a region that hosts multicultural/lingual communities and contexts. The journal strives to enable the advancement of knowledge dealing with English Language studies in these communities and contexts by providing a publication avenue for new and insightful multidisciplinary work in the region.
The ultimate objective of the journal is to create critical awareness of Southeast Asian concerns with all areas of English language Studies. Submissions of educational papers that draw parallels between regional and global concerns of English Language Studies are also welcomed. 3L publishes issues in March, June, September and December.
Peer Review Process[edit]
The manuscripts submitted to 3L go through an internal review and if they meet the basic requirements, they will be sent out for double-blind review from experts in the field, either from the editorial board or identified reviewers. Comments from the external reviewers are sent to the authors and they are notified of the journal’s decision either they will be accepted, accept with revisions and or rejected. This entire review process will take anywhere between 4 - 6 months after submission of a manuscript, a common period of time for varsity publishing bodies takes to publish the submissions they receive.
Publication Frequency[edit]
The varsity publication 3L publishes issues in March, June, September and December, in both print and electronic copies. In line with greener and paperless initiative of the university, 3L focuses on reaching out with their electronic copies for easier and wider reach of distribution.
Open Access Policy[edit]
The journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge as well as believing in the noble cause of delivering impactful contributions to the field.
