How can I delete a page?
Only users that belongs to Admin and Wikeeper groups can delete a page.
You need to have a good reason to delete a page, see for example 2.1 How to delete an article about me (like my bio) or where my name just appears?
If you want to delete a page, please message or email us.
I uploaded a file (picture) on the English Wikipedia, but I can only see its name and not the picture itself, why ?
You have to move the file from English (or any) Wikipedia to WikiCommons. more information here.
WikiCommons is a common repository of files for all wikimedia projects. Images from commons are automatically and remotely displayed on many other wiki sites like everybodywiki.com.
How do I use a commons photo?
You can post it directly on this wiki. Just indicate the name of the file and its extension between [[File:
And ]]
Example:
Why can't I edit a page, even if it's about me?
The page might be protected. Someone else created the page and chose to protect it.
See "How to edit a page about me that is protected?" below 👇
How to edit a page about me that is protected?
Even if it's your page, if it was not created by yourself, you can't protect it against editing.
And if it has been protected by it's creator, you can't edit it.
- Create a new article with another url
- For example, if the page name is "Barrack Obama", create a new page named "Barrack Obama (President)"
- Copy the content from the page you can't edit
- Paste the content in the new page
- Make a redirection from the other page (see below)
- If you can't make a redirection, ask us.
Why can't I protect a page about me?
You might have created this page on wikipedia, and it has been recovered by our bot.
If this is the case, you are not considered as the creator of the page : the bot is the creator of the page.
To to overcome this, folow the step below :
- Create a new article with another url
- For example, if the page name is "Barrack Obama", create a new page named "Barrack Obama (President)"
- Copy the content from the page you can't edit
- Paste the content in the new page
- Make a redirection from the other page (see below)
- If you can't make a redirection, ask us.
How do I Move/Rename/Redirect a page to change the URL
Only users that belongs to Admin and Wikeeper groups can move a page to another title.
If you want to rename a page, please enter the name of the page you want to rename here.
OR if the page is not protected, you can make a manual redirect :
For example if you want to redirect "Page A" to "Page B" : delete all the content of "Page A" and write this :To move a page :
#redirect pageB
- On desktop, hover your mouse over "More" at the top right of the page
- Click on "Move" link or tab
- Choose a new Namespace (By default, it is (main))
- Write a reason like "Not a draft anymore"
- Click the "Move Page" button
Special cases
How can I remove Draft: in the title of the article?
Only users that belongs to Admin and Wikeeper groups can remove "Draft:" in the title of the article.
Instruction for the Wikeeper : Move the page to the new title (without the "Draft:" namespace)
.
For page that was formerly in Draft namespace
Cleaning categories : on Draft page on Wikipedia categories are marked as a link :Category:NameOfTheCategory (with :)
To change it to a real categorization of the page, edit the page with wikicode and remove ":" after "[[". Example :
- Before : :Category:NameOfTheCategory
- After :
How can I clean a page?
When a page is recovered from Wikipedia, a lot of links will turn red. This is because all these links target pages that are not on EverybodyWiki.
- You can remove red links. If the link text is important, you can bold it (or add the tag
<strong>
if you are editing in wiki code). - You can remove duplicate blue links in a page and only keep one. We think article should be linked once from another article.
- Please do not remove :
- Categories. Even if the page is the only one which belong to this category. These categories will be use to show pages of the same category in the future and a page rely to this category could be imported or created some day.
- The template
Source Wikipedia
How can I display subpages of a page?
Add this snippet in wikicode in the root page :

I have found text on Everybodywiki that infringes the copyright, what should I do?
You can remove content that infringes copyright and indicate the original source in your edit summary.
If you do not indicate the location of the copyrighted content, your modification may be considered vandalism.
Which pages or content should be deleted on Everybodywiki?
- Bad or illegal content such as personal attacks or harassments, privacy leaks and copyright violations. Examples include articles that have been tagged with the speedy delete template. These articles have been tagged as G3 (pure vandalism but not blatant hoaxes), G10 (pages that disparage, threaten, intimidate, or harass their subject or some other entity and serve no other purpose), or G12 (unambiguous copyright infringement) on Wikipedia.
- Pages kept on Wikipedia can be deleted on Everybodywiki expecting they were just merged or redirected. This deletion is automatic. Pages forked on EveryBodyWiki could be kept here, just add the template nobots anywhere in the page to be sure the page won't be duplicate.
- Content that incites hatred against or promotes discrimination of person or groups of persons because of their race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability...
What about hoaxes, fake news... ?
They should not be deleted but clearly highlighted at the top of the article as hoaxes, fake news/bio/information...
To display a message please insert the template Fake news
or Db-hoax
at the top of the article. See help page on how to add template
And satire or dark comedy ?
As well, they should not be deleted but clearly highlighted at the top of the article as humorous. Please note that we know that some things may not make you laugh because of their borderline jokes.
To display a message please insert the template Satire-DarkHumor
at the top of the article. See help page on how to add template

Why am I able to find informations about my deleted page on other informations ?
On other applications like Microsoft Bing Rechercher, you can still find information about deleted pages.
If you want it removed, please contact the concerned application admin. We can't do much about it.
Why are there so many red links on pages (when logged in) ?
A red link links to page which doesn't exist.
If you see a lot of red links, you should be on a page which was imported from Wikipedia and has many links to pages which don't exists on Everybodywiki.
How do I switch to another skin?
When logged in, go to Preferences > Appearance and select another skin (like Chameleon, based on Bootstrap, which is responsive).

Why do my changes are getting reverted?
Maybe because WikiMasterBot2 is still reading a Wikipedia Draft.
See the question under for mor informations 👇
Why did WikiMasterBot2 edit a page I already edited myself?
Maybe because a page with the same name is currently in the "Articles for deletion" category or on the "Draft:" namespace on English or Simple English Wikipedia. And has been automatically overwritten by WikiMasterBot2.
WikiMasterBot2 could make some minor changes periodically like replacing some text.
SOLUTION : add the template nobots
at the bottom of the page.
See help page on how to add template. See user:WikiMasterBot

How can I help the project?
Some maintenance job could be done see : Everybodywiki:ToDo Unfortunately our WikiMasterBot is too stupid to do some tasks at this time :
- You can translate some interface sentences into a specific language or correct English mistakes, WikiMaster doesn't have a native understanding of English. See Everybodywiki:Translation
- You can do some search engine optimization for some articles/expression, see below
If you want to contribute, you can clean new pages and improve existing ones.
Does EverybodyWiki have any affiliation with The Wikimedia Foundation?
No, you can see the project of the foundation here
Do Wikipedia pages get deleted from EverybodyWiki staff?
No, EverybodyWiki does not:
- Delete any page,
- Vote for or against deletion
- Put articles as candidates for deletion
- Decline or reject drafts submissions
I have created a page on Wikipedia which is currently considered for deletion, would Everybodywiki copy it?
- Everybodywiki only copies pages which belong to the category "Articles for deletion", Category:Rejected_AfC_submissions and category "Deletion Requests" on simple english wikipedia. So your page should be copied within 24 hours on EveryBodyWiki. You can search it to be sure. If it is not found, you have to copy it manually, see Everybodywiki:Rules_of_Everybodywiki#If_you_copy_a_page_from_Wikipedia
- Everybodywiki doesn't copy pages from the category Candidates_for_speedy_deletion, if your page belongs to this category you have to copy it manually if it's not bad or illegal content. To keep the formatting, we advise you to copy the source in wikicode and create the page in wikicode on Everybodywiki. Don't forget to add the template "Source Wikipedia" at the bottom of the article to display the link to the page on Wikipedia. For that, simply add at the bottom of the page
Source Wikipedia
in wikicode.
Do you delete pages duplicated with Wikipedia?
Yes WikiMasterBot2 is removing from April 24 2020 duplicates with Wikipedia, replacing all the content by the template Kept in Wikipedia if it finds the same page on Wikipedia.
It will only delete pages that WikiMasterBot2 or WikiMasterBot has edited and that are still on Wikipedia (but not as redirect or still marked for deletion).
If you don't want a page you have copied from Wikipedia to be deleted, just add the template nobots anywhere in the page.
If the content of a page was already replaced by Kept in WIkipedia, feel free to revert WIkiMasterBot2 edits and add the template nobots anywhere in the page. WikiMasterBot2 won't replace the content anymore. After some weeks, pages kept on Wikipedia will be deleted.
