Battle for Dream Island (shortened to BFDI in some contexts) is an American Flash-animated web series created by Chinese-American twin brothers Michael and Cary Huang and hosted on the YouTube channel jacknjellify. The show released its first episode on January 1, 2010. It is directed and produced by Cary Huang, Michael Huang, and Satomi Hinatsu. The series first aired on the 1st of January 2010, with "Take the Plunge" being the first episode of Season 1.[1] The series is about various anthropomorphic objects living within a fictional location known as Goiky. In all of the seasons excluding the third season[2] they are competing in a competition for a prize[3] The episodes are distributed on the YouTube channel jacknjellify. Episode 5b of the second season, Battle for Dream Island Again, does not follow the format of the traditional episodes as it is a video game[4].

BFDIA 5B[4][edit]
BFDI 5B was not an episode, it was a game made by Cary Huang and Michael Huang.
When the game debuted, the game had 33 playable levels, and the player could not pass level 33 until February 19, 2013. From February 19 to 25, the game had 50 playable levels, and the player could not pass level 50 until February 25. Due to the creators of the game were being very busy, the February 25 update only added 3 new playable levels. Currently, the game has 53 playable levels, and the player cannot pass level 53 until an unknown date.
A note in level 53 says levels would be uploaded as soon as they were made, but on March 3, 2013, it was announced that the game was postponed then due to BFDIA 5c.
However, in the video "BFDI's Best Hiatus Ever", Cary Huang revealed that BFDIA 5b would be completed, but it didn't get completed after some projects had been released. And BFDIA 5b might be a side-project besides IDFB 2.
