Christian hip hop is a music genre and sub-genre of “Christian music” and 'Hip hop' music.
Origin and Background[edit]
The genre originated in the early 90's with music from artists' such as Cross Movement, T-Bone, Gospel Gangstaz, and Kirk Franklin.
Artists and Styles[edit]
Christian hip hop has many artists with unique styles and voices in the hip hop community. The hip hop artist and Grammy winner Lecrae has been a vocal artist in the Christian hip hop genre and has been an outspoken key voice for the mainstream hip hop community.
There are other artists like NF, Young Able, John Givez, Bizzle, Toby Mac, and recent convert to Christianity Kanye West who share their view points on the world from points of view that relate to God and people.
