Dansons, Incorporated
Dansons, Incorporated is a multinational manufacturer of Pellet Grills, Pellet Fuel and Grilling Accessories headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona. Dansons' subsidiaries include Pit Boss® Grills, Louisiana Grills, Country Smokers, A-MAZE-N Smokin' Products and SureLock Security Co., the largest of which, Pit Boss Grills, has been noted as one of the fastest growing brands in the grilling industry.[1]
History
Dansons was founded in 1999 by Dan Thiessen and his two sons, Jeff and Jordan. The original idea behind the company was rooted in the concept of transforming wood byproducts from external sawmill operations into consumer products. They began by manufacturing horse bedding and pellet fuel from wood shavings. That operation transitioned into manufacturing wood pellet stoves. Due to the 2008 recession, the family was forced to sell the pellet stove business and instead focused their efforts on a new endeavor they called the Louisiana Grill wood pellet barbecue and fuel company (now known as Louisiana Grills).[1]
In 2013, they officially launched their flagship brand, Pit Boss® Grills. Since then, they have maintained these brands while founding Country Smokers and SureLock Security Co. in 2018 and acquiring A-MAZE-N Smokin' Products.
In addition to managing these brands, Dansons has also invested in numerous pellet mills across the United States including locations in Hope, Arkansas,[2] Thomson, Georgia[3] and Peebles, Ohio.[4]
