El Shaddai Charitable Trust, Goa- India
El Shaddai Charitable Trust,[1][2][3] is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) in Goa, India – certified by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). Co-founded in 1997 by Anita Edgar and Matthew Kurian in Mapusa [4], a city in Goa, it is now handled by Matthew Kurian[5] as the Managing Trustee of the non-profit organisation. The organisation has received many awards for playing an active role in empowering women and children.
The organisation[6] is a member of the Child Welfare Committee in north Goa. It has its houses, shelters, schools[7] and community centres spread out in north and south Goa as well as other states in India - Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
El Shaddai Charitable Trust[8][9][10] mainly gets its funding[11] from individual donors, sponsors, and corporate partners to feed and take care of the deprived. It has also roots in the United Kingdom[12][13] for charity[14] donations[15]. Various events[16][17][18][19] are organised to raise funds by the organisation.
Several projects[20] in the areas of education, child protection, women empowerment and advocacy for the rights of children, especially the marginalised and those from the streets, and orphans in Goa is dealt with by the NGO. Skills training is one of the major topics focused at the organisation to make children, women and the other underprivileged sections self-sufficient financially.

The organisation is seen providing those on the streets and slum areas with food packets, sanitisation kits, ration kits and other hygiene products in the COVID-19 pandemic time.
