1. Save an existing internationalisation data template under a new name template:i18n_NAME-OF-SVG-WITHOUT-.svg-EXTENSION, making any relevant changes as above.
2. Download the most recent version of the SVG and an existing multilingual SVG.
3. In a text editor, replace everything before <svg with

#<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><!--
""" To recover the Python script to generate this SVG, insert # at the start of the line above -->

1. Copy the code after </svg> in the existing multilingual SVG to the end of your SVG (after </svg>).
2. Change every <text ...>...</text> to be translated into <g ...></g>. If each has an id="SOMETHING", change SOMETHING to i18n_ID where ID is an alphanumeric string of your choice matching the column headers in the internationalisation data table (case is sensitive), otherwise add it. Convert any x, y, dx or dy to equivalent transform="translate(x + dx, y + dy)". Advanced: add a data-format="FORMAT_STRING" parameter to specify a C-style format string to format the value e.g. to output "123 day(s)", where "day(s)" is the string localised with ID "DAYS" (it can't do plurals), use <g id="i18n_DAYS" data-format="123 %s"></g>.
3. Save the file as NAME-OF-SVG-WITHOUT-.svg-EXTENSION.py.
4. Run the file in Python 2 or 3.
5. If there are no errors, an SVG of the same name should be generated.
6. Check that the SVG works.
7. If OK, upload it to Wikimedia Commons.
