Godi-media

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Godi-media or Lapdog-media, in English, is a pejorative term coined and popularized by Ravish Kumar,[1][2][3] that has gained wide currency in the wake of Citizenship Amendment Act protests, and 2020 Indian farmers' protest.[4][5][6] According to Ravish Kumar, the term refers to sensationalist Indian print and TV news media which does the bidding of the Narendra Modi led National Democratic Alliance.[7][8][9]

Godi-Media, its detractors allege, instead of practicing honest journalism, traffics in motivated fake news and inflammatory stories, often untrue, that supports the agenda of the Bharatiya Janata Party led Central and State Governments, and media owning corporate houses.[8][10][11] TV and New channels that have been called Godi media include Zee News, Times Now, Republic TV, Aajtak, ABP News, Sudarshan News, CNN-News18, India TV.[7][9][11][12][13][14]
