Heatherton Road is an arterial road located in the southeastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

History[edit]

The road existed as early as 1856, as a rough track. It was originally known as The Mornington Road. This caused confusion with the Mornington to Frankston Road. The name was changed to Heatherton Road in 1893.[2]

Route[edit]

Starting at the intersection of Clayton & Boundary Roads, the road heads east as a 4 lane single carriageway, having to go under the Cranbourne & Pakenham railway lines. After intersecting with Stud Road, the road later continues as a 4-lane dual carriageway. After passing the intersection Hallam North Road, the road later continues as a 2 lane single carriageway until the road finishes at the intersection near Belgrave-Hallam Road.[1]
