Heritage Manufacturing, Inc.[edit]

Heritage Manufacturing, Inc. is an American firearms manufacturer founded in 1992 by Jay Bernkrant and Maria Diaz, and is currently owned by Taurus Armas.[1] Heritage is known for producing low cost .22 Long Rifle revolvers and revolver rifles.

History[edit]

Heritage Manufacturing, Inc. was founded in 1992 by Jay Bernkrant and his wife, Maria Diaz. The company made a name for itself by producing low cost but quality and functional revolvers. In 2012, Heritage was bought by Taurus through an undisclosed transaction.[2][3][4] Most of the manufacturing was moved to Miami, FL, which was then home to Taurus. In 2018, Taurus moved its headquarters and manufacturing to Bainbridge, GA.[5]

Products[edit]

Heritage's most well known firearms are single action revolvers chambered in .22 LR and, for some models, .22 WMR. The .22 LR revolvers also come with an external hammer block safety switch, something not found on other brands of single action revolvers such as the Ruger Wrangler and Colt Single Action Army.[6][7]

Heritage also makes single action revolvers in .357 Magnum and .45 Colt, and had even produced a .25 Auto semi-auto pistol called the H-25 between 1995-1999.[8]

  • Rough Rider Small Bore
    • Basic single action revolver chambered in .22 LR. Offered in various finishes, lengths, capacity, and features. Some models come with an additional .22 WMR cylinder. Comes with an external hammer block safety switch.
  • Rough Rider Big Bore
    • Basic single action revolver chambered in .357 Magnum or .45 Colt. Offered in a few styles.
  • Rough Rider Tactical Cowboy
    • Variant of the Rough Rider Small Bore that has a top picatinny rail, fiber optic front sight, threaded barrel, and simulated carbon fiber grips.
  • Barkeep/Barkeep Boot
    • Shortened version of the Rough Rider Small Bore, designed for concealment. Offered in various finishes and lengths. Due to the short barrel length, an extractor rod is not present on the firearm and rounds must be extracted by a separate tool.
  • Rancher Carbine Series
    • Single action revolver with a rifle stock and 16.12" barrel. Offered with basic notch sights, or adjustable buckhorn sights.
