The Iranian Student Association in America (ISAA) is a non-political, non-religious, voluntary graduate student organization, acting as a source of union and support for the Iranian community at the University of California, Berkeley (UCB). ISAA strives for improving the academic, professional, and societal experiences of Iranian students, increasing the voice of Iranians within the United States, and promoting the Iranian community, identity, and culture.

ISAA was first founded in 2002 under the name Iranian Student Alliance in America. At the time, ISAA was a political organization that had multiple chapters across the US. After a few years of activity, ISAA became frozen and was revived again in 2018 under the name Iranian Student Association in America as a graduate student group with a non-political mission.

ISAA Major Events and Activities[edit]

Each year, ISAA celebrates Nowruz , Sezah Be-dar, Yalda night, and Sepandarmazgan. In addition to these major Iranian traditions, ISAA hosts regular social activities including game nights, movie screenings, BBQs, hikes, etc. At the beginning of the Fall semester, ISAA welcomes the new students at their "Gheraduate Party", and they kick off the Spring semester with "ISAA's Meet and Greet".
