Rajesh Krishnan (born 2 September 1971) is an Indian film maker, Screenwriter and Producer in the Mumbai Film Industry[1]. He is a popular name in the ad world and even helmed hit web series TVF Tripling and Lootcase.[2]

Film Career

Rajesh Krishnan is predominantly known for his work on various humour-based television commercials from the time he started out as an ad film director in the year 2001. In the year 2007[3] he founded Soda Films, a boutique advertising production house along with Producer Ameya Dahibavkar[4]. In the year 2016, he directed TVF Tripling (Season 1)[5], a web series for the OTT platform The Viral Fever (TVF) that received critical acclaim[6]. In 2020, Rajesh Krishnan directed Lootcase[7], which was scheduled for theatrical release on 10 April 2020, but the release was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic[8][9]. The Lootcase was released on 31 July 2020[10] on Disney+ Hotstar[11]. His company Soda Films also co-produced the film with Fox Star Entertainment[12]

Personal Life

Rajesh grew up in Goregaon and had a strict middle-class, Palakkad Iyer family upbringing. He did his schooling at Vivek Vidyalaya School[13] in Goregaon. He did his Bachelor’s in Commerce from Shri Chinai College of Commerce & Economics. In 1995 he completed his Post Graduate studies in Advertising and Communications from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies. He spent the next 5 years working as a Copywriter with agencies such as Contract, Enterprise Nexus and O&M. He also had a stint in TV channels such as Channel (V) as a writer and B4U Music as Head of On Air Promos[14] before he became a professional Ad film maker.
