Rayviyan Floyd Driyon (born March 22, 1992), known professionally by his stage name Rudeboyray (formerly stylized as RUDƎBOYRAY), is a Sri Lankan Artist/Rapper/Song Writer who came into the scene from the North-Western Province. He was a music lover since he was a student in Royal College, Colombo (2003-2011).

Apart from music he is a involved various fields. He has his fair share of talents as a Pencil Sketch Artist, Storyboard creator, a Script Writer, a Creative Writer, a Director, an Editor and more. He was the Director and the Script Writer in his every music video and 90% of them were also edited by him. He recently started hosting a new podcast named “Adikaram Sithivili Podcast” inspired by his very own blog “Adikaram Sithivili”.

Career[edit]

Rudeboyray started his music career as a cover artist (rapper) in 2012. Then on 2014 he joined his hands with one of the most influential Hip-Hop/Rap crews in Sri Lanka, Ahasa (Agra Harawath Sangeethaya) who blasted through YouTube and went viral from their very first single named “Ahasa”. And also Rudeboyray was one of the co-founders of the “Ahasa” crew.

Right after 4 months from releasing the “Ahasa” official music video, Rudeboyray dropped his first mixtape named “Kotuwata Kapapu Annasi Kali” also known as “Annasi Sinduwa” with his crew member Prasa Kg.

In 2015 Rudeboyray released another single named “Nirnamika Gaanu Lamayi” featuring his crew member Truno (Sathyajith Perera). And this song was nominated as The Best Hip-Hop/Rap Music Video in 2015 on “Derana Music Video Awards” hosted by a popular television network in Sri Lanka.

Since then Rudeboyray made a number of songs and was featured in more than dozen tracks with various artists. And again in 2016 he came up with another huge hit named “Rawati Sasaramaga” also featured by Prasa Kg.

Fast forward to 2018 Rudeboyray partnered with his currennt music producer Harindu Fernando and started Shredder Beatz Records and decided to come out with his very own new YouTube channel named “RUDEBOYRAY” and released his first ever solo “Hamath Sathek” produced, mixed and mastered by Harindu Fernando. With this single he invented a brand-new artsy persona of himself and an influential, unique, aggressive lyrical style. And he has subsumed his script writing, directing, editing and all of his creative skills into this music video.

From then on Rudeboyray tried to reach new levels, new depths and boundaries of Sri Lankan Hip-Hop/Rap game with outstanding controversial contents, he started talking more about realistic social and political aspects of the society in bold.

Rudeboyray collab with Minol Witharana from Drill Team Westnahira, “Abbahi Wela” was released in November 2018 gained a lot of attention on Sri Lankan Rap/HipHop game.

Rudeboyray released a track named “Caligynephobia" in 2019 featured by Prathap Costa, which was a big hit on his tracklist.

In November 2019 Rudeboyray released “Deshapalana Pakaya” re-make, a rear kind of combination featured by the great musician Ajith Kumarasiri, and this was the first time in the Sri Lankan music history, a rap artist featured a Jazz/Blues mixed music track with an expert from an older generation.

In 2021 March Rudeboyray signed a record label deal with one of the major record labels in Sri Lanka The Serandip Music Group which was a great success in his music career.

Few weeks after being signed into Serandip Music Group, Rudeboyray left his former crew "Ahasa" to become an independent artist.
