RxSense, LLC is an American health information technology (HIT) company.

Overview[edit]

RxSense was started in 2015 by entrepreneur Rick Bates to develop technology solutions for improved healthcare technology and access to more affordable medications.[1][2] SingleCare, a subsidiary of RxSense, was also started at the same time by Bates to bring better transparency to the prescription drug market.[3] Bates combined the expertise of healthcare veterans and technology experts to create an architecture that can address the main areas of pharmacy benefits administration.[4] Bates won the Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2018 for his work in SingleCare.[5] Martin Short partnered with Singlecare in December 2021 to promote its program of lower cost medicines in television ads.[6][7] In 2021 RxSense partnered with ProAct to better enhance ProAct's performance in claims processing and benefits management. RxSense received an investment from the private equity firm Parthenon Capital in 2020 for an undisclosed amount.[8] In May 2022 EmsanaRX, a pharmacy benefit manager, announced a partnership with RxSense to create more transparency for its employers.[9]

SingleCare[edit]

SingleCare is a free prescription savings service.[10] It provides low prices and better access to medications.[11] In 2020 SingleCare partnered with WebMD to create WebMDRx a service that provides WebMD's customers with better access to more affordable prescription drugs.[12][1]

SingleCare annually awards 25 pharmacies and pharmacists through thousands of recommendations from customers.[13]

FamilyWize[edit]

FamilyWize was a prescription discount card and mobile app.[14] In 2017 FamilyWize partnered with United Way to offer more access to prescription discounts.[15] In 2021 FamilyWize merged with SingleCare Services to continue its business under the SingleCare brand.[16]

Products[edit]

RxAgile[edit]

RxAgile was the first product created by RxSense. It is a cloud-based platform created to bring transparency and efficiency to pharmacy benefit management. RxAgile also offers licensed enterprise software for pharmacy benefits.[17]
