Sami Barmada (born 1970) is a Professor, researcher and academic administrator at the University of Pisa and Co-Editor-in-Chief of the ACES Journal.[1][2]
Early life
Sami Barmada was born in Livorno, Italy, on November 18, 1970, to a Syrian father and Italian mother.
In 1989 he joined the Electrical Engineering program at the University of Pisa where he graduated in June 1995. He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the same university. During his Ph.D. he was a visiting student at the University of Akron, OH, USA, under the supervision of Professor Nathan Ida, at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department.[3]
Scientific background
He has authored and coauthored more than 120 papers in international journals and indexed conferences. He is a member of the International Steering Committee of the CEFC Conference and he has been the general chairman and a technical program chairman of numerous international conferences. He is an Applied Computational Electromagnetic Society (ACES) Fellow and he served as an ACES President from 2015 to 2017.

His research interests include applied electromagnetics, electromagnetic fields calculation, power line communications, wireless power transfer devices, and nondestructive testing.
