Signal (cigarettes)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Signal cigarettes are a brand of cigarettes manufactured by Ohserase Manufacturing LLC on the St. Regis Mohawk Reservation in Akwesasne, New York.[1] Signal all-natural Native made cigarettes come in a variety of flavors, such as bold, full flavor, mellow, smooth, ultra-smooth, menthol max, menthol, and menthol smooth. Signal cigarettes are available in kings and 100s sizes. The logo contains a torch-bearer with a Gustoweh headdress, an Adirondack-themed pine tree forest, and decorative Wampum to honor its Mohawk culture. The Mohawk nation's Gustoweh contains three upright eagle feathers. [2]

In 2020, Signal cigarettes redesigned its packaging to modernize and provide more attributes to its Native American culture. Justin Tarbell, Ohserase Manufacturing’s senior vice president of strategy and business development, said “the redesign focused on celebrating our heritage of keeping the product pure from additives, flavors, preservatives, and other chemicals while showcasing our Native American Roots. From the Mohawk Brave on the front to the story on the back and the bright Native American beadwork motif on the top, we’ve completely reimagined what a cigarette pack can be.” [1]

A portion of each sale of Signal cigarettes goes to support Native American charities.[1] [3]

Signal cigarettes are sold in packs of 20.[4]

One of four Mohawk words – water, fire, sun and earth - are printed inside the top of each pack of Signal cigarettes. Water is Ohné:ka, Fire is Oetseira, Sun is Karáhkwa and Earth is Kanien’Keha.[1]

A freshness seal is placed on each pack, ensuring the maximum freshness and flavor for tobacco consumers.[5]

Signal is among several tobacco brands owned by Ohserase Manufacturing LLC, including Great Country, Niagara’s, Farmer’s Gold, Dean’s, and Ten Pointer. Tarbell Management Group of Akwesasne, New York, is the parent company for Ohserase Manufacturing LLC.[6][7][8][9][10][11][12]
