Smallant1 (real name Tanner; born 3 May 1996[1]) is a partnered Twitch streamer and YouTube content creator who currently holds two world records in Super Mario Odyssey version 1.0 Minimum Captures in both the one-player and two-player categories.[2] He began uploading to YouTube on 7 February 2018,[3] and created his channel on Twitch on 29 February 2016.[4] He has been a central part of the Super Mario Odyssey community, running the community Discord, moderating the speedrunning leaderboards, and running events such as the Super Mario Odyssey 'Tasks' and weekly bingo. While he was regularly playing Super Mario Odyssey, Smallant1 was the #1 most watched Super Mario Odyssey streamer.[5] Since November 2019, Smallant1 has taken a break from his usual minimum capture runs and has been playing more The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,[5] and as of January 2020, he is now the #1 most watched The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild streamer.[4] He started his career on YouTube providing accessible Super Mario Odyssey tutorials.[6] He lives in Northern British Columbia, Canada, with roommates.[7] He used to work at a lumber mill as a fire spotter but became a full-time content creator as of 29 April 2019.[8] He has over 541,000 subscribers and 88,512,978 views on YouTube as of 10 August, 2020[9] and over 80,000 followers on Twitch.[4]
Before his renown on YouTube and Twitch, Smallant1 was a successful LittleBigPlanet creator, having four of his levels "Team Picked".[10] He was interviewed on the Community Corner for his creativity creating levels such as an entire Pixel Art RPG in the LittleBigPlanet engine.[11]
