World Influencers and Bloggers Awards (WIBA) is an international contest that is organized for the most distinguished bloggers all over the world. The main aim of the event is to gather all key influencers together and build new collaborations in the conduct of the global contest. Applicants have an opportunity to communicate directly with business representatives before the awards ceremony to increase their reach through social media.

History of the World Influencers and Bloggers Awards

WIBA was planned in 2019 first. The event producer of the World Influencers and Bloggers Awards is Grazhina Chaplin. She is a TV presenter, founder, and producer of many social events like Moscow-based golf tournaments, society, and public arrangements in Europe. Among Maria-Grazhina’s last achievements are:

  • the foundation of the international media group City Life
  • organization of the first edition of the world’s largest bloggers’ contest (WIBA 2019).[1]

The first ceremony of World Influencers and Bloggers Awards took place in Cannes on the 24th of May, 2019. Maria-Grazhina Chaplin in company with other organizers held the contest and the awards ceremony during the Cannes Film Festival. The worldwide interest was gained. The chief event producer announced the second edition of WIBA in 2020.

  1. The nominees are presented by the well-known bloggers and influencers in the digital world from the United Kingdom of Great Britain, the USA, Brazil, France, Italy, India, China, the UAE, Lebanon, Ukraine, Russia, and other countries.
  2. Most nominees have their popular blogging accounts on Instagram, Facebook, and Youtube.
  3. Among attendants are business representatives, global celebrities, famous sportsmen, politicians, very-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWI), etc.
  4. The contest involves the selection of 200 biggest influence-spreaders and the final stage when 42 finalists are listed and awarded. The superfinal category was also included.
  5. The first edition of WIBA (World Influencers and Bloggers Awards 2019) has a digital reach of 117 million viewers. The second edition of WIBA 2020 is planned to have a media outreach of 300 million people.
  6. The World Influencers and Bloggers Awards ceremony in Cannes was streamed live in 2019. WIBA 2020 will get about 4.2 million viewers through the TV partner broadcasts.
  7. For better collaboration of opinion leaders with society and advertisers, two other projects were created: World Influencers Association & World Bloggers Agency.
  8. The upcoming event of the World Influence Assembly is in May 2020. World Influencers Strategic Session Luncheon “Influencers Power for the Future” will take place in France (Cannes).

WBA 2019 – the First Edition in Cannes

The first announcement of the event in press appeared in the L’Officiel magazine on the 14th of May, 2019. [2]The first ceremony of World Influencers and Bloggers Awards took place in Cannes on the 24th of May, 2019. The event was held during the Cannes Film Festival. The 1st edition of WIBA in 2019 became the first-ever global ceremony focused on the bloggers and media influencers in the world. The number of social media representatives equaled 200 nominees. Attendants who presented their media channels and participated in the contest have had a chance to become super finalists. The award ceremony was announced and noted by international newspapers, magazines, and global media publishers (Forbes, PRNews, etc.). Both English and French Forbes reporters were present on the 1st edition of WIBA.[3] [4]

The list of winners was published in articles devoted to the WIBA 2019 event. One of the international publications, the CityLife magazine mentioned all superfinalists of the first edition. There were 15 contenders.[5] The founder and the event producer of WIBA 2019 Maria-Grazhina Chaplin announced the second edition of the World Influencers and Bloggers Award after the ceremony in Cannes came to an end. The contest is planned to be held in October 2020, in London.

Participants

The headliner of the World Influencers and Bloggers Award 2019 was Gianluca Vacchi. Italian-based DJ and Instagram blogger won the Grand Prix.[6] A famous Turkish restaurateur Nusret Gökçe nicknamed in Instagram as Salt Bae was among nominees. He received the award of the best blogger-influencer. Turkish newspapers devoted articles on the occasion of Nusret Gökçe rewarding. [7] Russian and Ukrainian-language media also focused attention on the WIBA 2019 event.[8] [9]

WIBA 2020 – the Second Edition in London

The second edition of the World Influencers and Bloggers Award will take place in October 2020. Organizers decided to issue a contest and conduct the awarding ceremony in London, in the Painted Hall. The media outreach is planned to be twice bigger – almost 300 million project audience reach is expected. The number of bloggers is also going to be changed. WIBA 2020 invited more than 250 global influencers. The list of nominations remained the same. Some of them are the following ones:

  • Best Food Influencer
  • Best Travel Influencer
  • Best Kid Influencer
  • Best Business Blog
  • Best Healthy Lifestyle Influencer.

The second edition of the World Influencers and Bloggers Awards is expected to have a bigger scale. The project gained support from influential partners in 2019. A-list global celebrities, businessmen, other star guests are invited to the following ceremony. A 2-day business summit for potential collaboration forming is included. Print and cable media representatives are invited. The expected reach is 300 million insights.
