Advanced Class Guide is Pathfinder Roleplaying Game supplemental sourcebook. It was released at Gen Con 2014. [1]
Before publication, classes of the Advanced Class Guide were subject to open playtest during 19 November – 17 December 2013 [2]
Content
The book introduces 10 new classes, each of which are hybrids of two existing classes. These classes are arcanist (wizard and sorcerer), bloodrager (barbarian and sorcerer), brawler (fighter and monk), hunter (druid and ranger), investigator (alchemist and rogue), shaman (oracle and witch), skald (barbarian and bard), slayer (ranger and rogue), swashbuckler (fighter and gunslinger) and warpriest (fighter and cleric). [3]
In addition, the book contains archetypes and options for older classes, new feats, spells, and equipment. Significant portion of feats and gear enhance abilities of the new classes or give weaker versions of them to other classes. [4]
Reception
Reviews of Advanced Class Guide were largely positive, one describing it as "a solid contribution" to the game system. [3][4] Other reviews acknowledged that new options "might upset the power level a bit". Subsystems like grit and panache were mentioned to be confusing in character creation. [5]
