On August 23, a Rockwell Commander 690C flying from Simón Bolívar International Airport, Maiquetia, Venezuela to José María Córdova International Airport, Rionegro, Colombia crashed in Yaritagua, Yaracuy, Venezuela after the plane went into a spiral and started to fall out of the sky.[1][2]
Accident[edit]
The Rockwell Commander 690C, carrying 2 people, took off from Simón Bolívar International Airport, Maiquetia, Venezuela at around 2:30 PM VET. The plane was going to José María Córdova International Airport, Rionegro, Columbia and was flying southwest toward the airport. The plane continued it's path toward José María Córdova International Airport for 30 minutes, then, the plane suddenly started to fall from the sky. A witness started recording and you can see flames on the plane as it falls to the ground, the two occupants died in the crash, one of the pilots initially survived the collision with the ground but even though the locals dragged him out of the burning plane, he died minutes later.[3][4]

The aircraft was a privately owned Rockwell Commander 690C Jetprop 840 and its registration was YV2915.[5] Its MSN was 11663.[6]
Crew[edit]
There were two occupants on board the plane, who were also the two crew members of the aircraft. They were Andrés Adolfo Riera Fernández, 52, the pilot, and co-pilot Duglas Villalobos.[7]
