History[edit]

ART FOR CHANGE was founded in 2018 by Jeanne Masel.[2] After graduating from Sotheby's Institute of Art with a master's degree in Contemporary Art and a certificate in Fine Art Appraisal from the Pratt Institute, Masel started ART FOR CHANGE as a way to consolidate her lifelong love for the arts and her commitment to philanthropic initiatives. Masel stated in an interview that ART FOR CHANGE's artist-initiatives raised over $30,000 for When We All Vote[3] and provided over 50,000 meals to City Harvest in 2020.[4]

Work with Non-Profit Organizations[edit]

ART FOR CHANGE donates a portion of each purchase to non-profit organizations[5]. The company has worked with organizations such as the Ali Forney Center, the Audre Lorde Project, the Brooklyn Museum[6], the Callen-Lorde Community Health Center, the Center for Human Rights in Iran[7], City Harvest[8], Destination Tomorrow[9], Independent Curators International[10], the International Rescue Committee[11], Planned Parenthood[12], Project Healthy Minds[13], United We Dream[14], the Ventura County Rainbow Umbrella Program[15], and When We All Vote.[16]
