Ailish Johnson Campbell is the incumbent and Canada’s first ever female ambassador to the European Union.[1][2] She was Canada’s trade commission chief and assistant deputy minister for international business development for three years,[3][4] and a former vice-president of the Business Council of Canada (formerly: Canadian Council of Chief Executives).[5][6]

Campbell obtained her Bachelor's degree in Political Studies from Queen’s University. She received her MSc (Economics) in 1998 from the London School of Economics. In 2002, She got her doctor of philosophy degree from Oxford University, USA on International Relations.[7][8][9]

She is the 2019 recipient of the Startup Canada policy innovation award.[10][11] and was named to World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders in 2014.[6]
