Apto was founded in 2012 in The Woodlands, TX by Tanner McGraw, a former commercial real estate broker.[4][5] The company moved its headquarters to Denver from Texas in 2015.[6] Angela Tucci was hired as Chief Executive Officer at Apto in August, 2017.[7][8]
Apto has received investments from Mercury Fund[9] and Adams Street Partners.[10] The company placed on the Inc. 5000 list, as one of the top 5000 fastest-growing private companies in the United States in 2016[11], 2017[12], and 2018.[13]
