ArmstrongWW[edit]

Armstrong Tanyi Orock (born November 2001), professionally known as ArmstrongWW, is a Cameroonian-American musician, producer, and songwriter based in Houston, Texas[1]. His music can be described as an alternative fusion of Indie soul and lyrical/conscious Hip-Hop. Since entering the scene in late 2019, Armstrong has remained an independent artist with ties to Houston based community "River Houston". Recently his hit single 'Call You' made it's way around the globe in mid-2022 receiving radio play from BBC Radio One[2], Rinse FM, BBC1xtra[3], Soho Radio[4], CSJW-FM[5], introducing many to Armstrong's signature vocal layering style.

Early Life[edit]

Armstrong was born in Garoua, Cameroon and moved to the United States at the age of 7. His interest in music began early in his childhood as seeing music videos and hearing movie soundtracks inspired 6 year old Armstrong to write his own songs to these various sounds[6]. Many years later at age 15 the young musician began recording his written songs onto beats using the popular app BandLab, which he downloaded through his mothers phone.
