Eric Touya de Marenne received his Ph.D. in romance languages and literature at the University of Chicago and is DEA in Comparative Literature at the University of Paris. He is currently professor in the College of Arts and Humanities at Clemson University.

His research and teaching interests include 20th-21st Century French and Francophone literature and culture, and interdisciplinary approaches to literature, art, feminism, culture, theory, ethics, and social studies.

He is the author of several books including Simone de Beauvoir: le combat au féminin (Paris: Presses Universitaires de France, 2019, 2022 ([1]), The Case for the Humanities, Pedagogy, Polity, Interdisciplinarity (Lanham: Roman and Littlefield, 2016,([2]), and French-American Relations: Remembering D-Day after September 11 (Lanham: University Press of America, 2008, ([3]).
