Fort Aero is an aviation services company based in Tallinn, Estonia. The company is recognized by the Estonian Transport Administration as an authorized air operator (Air Operator Certificate EE-008).[1]

History[edit]

Fort Aero was established in 1997. Over the years, the company has sought to increase the number of foreign-owned aircraft registered in Estonia.[2] In 2019, along with other Estonian aviation companies, Fort Aero requested financial support from the state.[3] Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Fort Aero ceased operations in Russian airspace and closed its Moscow office.[4]

Corporate Social Responsibility[edit]

Fort Aero has established a scholarship under the Estonian Cultural Endowment to support aviation education in Estonia.[5] The company also contributes to the Estonian Aviation Academy Fund, which aims to promote Estonian aviation education, raise the level of aviation safety, and involve the public in financing aviation education.[6]

Controversies[edit]

In 2018, Fort Aero denied any connections with the Bank of Russia and stated that they had no active deals with Firmon Overseas Holding, a company mentioned in the circle of the bank's owners.[7]
