HBz is a German DJ and producer duo in the electronic music genre. The duo, in person Niklas Brüsewitz and Nils Schedler, releases numerous remixes and original songs using this stage name and is in high demand as an international live act. HBz gained great fame for the single „King Kong“ and the remix of the song „Lebenslang“ (Tream), among others.

History[edit]

Nils and Niklas got to know each other in kindergarten. At the end of 2009 they produced their first track and since 2011 they have been performing as DJs at events. Since then they have continuously worked on their career, both in terms of their music production – to this day they have already produced over 800 remixes – and the size of their gigs. Among their biggest gigs so far are the Lollapalooza in Berlin and the Olé at Schalke..[1]

They reached their first chart position and final breakthrough with the single „King Kong“, released in 2021, which entered the German single charts on June 18, 2021. It stayed in the charts for a total of 22 weeks, reaching ist highest listing at position 31[2]. In 2022 the song was awarded a Golden Record. HBz also received other Golden Records for the single „Deine Augen“, released in 2020 and for the remix of the song „Lebenslang“ with the German rapper Tream, released in 2022[3]

Performances[edit]

An important gig for HBz’s career was the Winterbeats Festival 2020 at the Saturn Arena in Ingolstadt, where they were voted best main act. Even though there were significant restrictions for the event industry in the years 2020 to early 2022, HBz has since performed at numerous well-known festivals and events, including Lollapalooza at the Olympiastadion Berlin [4], Parookaville [5], Sputnik Spring Break, SonneMondSterne, Spring Break Island, Electrisize or OpenBeatz. At the Veltins Arena HBz performed on stage in front of 40,000 people as part of the festival Olé at Schalke 2022.
