The International Medical Journal aims to provide a multidisciplinary forum for the exchange of ideas and knowledge among medical professionals and related disciplines worldwide. The first establishment of the International Medical Journal (IMJ) was in 1994. The IMJ is bimonthly published from 2013 (February, April, June, August, October, December). IMJ (ISSN 1341-2051, CODEN: IMJOFS) is published by the Japan International Cultural Exchange Foundation (JICEF) & Japan Health Sciences University, and printed and distributed by Seron Jiho-sha Co., Ltd.[1] IMJ does not charge any fee (processing/publishing) from researchers at all.[2]

The International Medical Journal is indexed by the EMBASE/Excerpta Medica, Scopus, the Japan Centra Revuo Medicina, the Bowker International Serials Database, PsycINFO, Psychological Abstracts, CINAHL database, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature print index, EBSCO, Science Citation Index Expanded, Journal Citation Reports/Science Edition, Compendex, and Reaxys.[1]

Warning about fake IMJ journal[edit]

Since 2019, the new home page of the International Medical Journal is being uploaded on the web site, which is the fake replica of the original IMJ. The fake IMJ mimics the original IMJand claims a similar ISSN 13412051 number with an incorrect format (no hyphen), whereas the ISSN number of original IMJ is 1341-2051. The style of publication also differs as fake IMJ is only an e-journal while the genuine IMJ is available online as well as provides printed hard copies. The fake IMJ asks for the publication charges of $300 for each manuscript while the articles are published free of cost in the genuine IMJ.
