Jessica Adams; born July 25, 1964..[1], is a dual citizen British-Australian astrologer who has written horoscopes for Elle Australia[2], Vogue Australia[3], Vogue Japan, Harper’s Bazaar[4], Bloomingdale’s, Sun-Herald Australia and Marie Claire publications. She has written six astrology books including Astrolove, Handbag Horoscopes, 2020 Vision (Penguin) and 2020 Astrology – Your Five Year Horoscope Guide.

Jessica is also a novelist published by Penguin[5][6] and team-edited the Girls’ Night In series, Kids’ Night In series and The Holiday Goddess Guide to Paris, London, New York and Rome[7] (HarperCollins). She publishes her own websites; her astrology website jessicaadams.com along with lifestyle websites HolidayGoddess.guide and Ammp.tv.

Early Life and education[edit]

Jessica was born in Brixton in the United Kingdom in 1964 and emigrated with her family to Launceston, Australia in 1973[8]. She later attended Brooks High School, Alanvale Community College and the University of Tasmania, where she graduated with a B.A. in Philosophy. Jessica then attended the Australian Film Television and Radio School in Sydney, graduating with a further B.A. in Screenwriting.

By the age of seven Jessica had developed an interest in astrology and was figuring out the star signs of her family[9]

At eighteen Jessica was trained by psychologist and author Steve Biddulph to be a volunteer youth suicide counsellor at Youthline in Tasmania.

Career[edit]

At Countdown magazine in 1988, Editor Sandra Hook quickly noticed Jessica’s passion for horoscopes and gave Jessica the role of writing the astrology content for the magazine.

Jessica was commissioned to write her first book on astrology, Astrology for Women, by Harper Collins in 1997. Her novels, Single White Email and Tom, Dick and Debbie Harry, I’m A Believer and The Summer Psychic followed (Penguin UK.).

Her next astrology book/s Handbag Horoscopes, twelve mini-sized ‘astro-diary’ astrology guides for each sun sign, were published in 1999, with Jessica donating twenty-five percent of the royalties from the sales to War Child.[9]

In 2002 she teamed with authors Fiona Walker and Chris Manby to edit a book of short stories by acclaimed authors from around the world to raise further funds for children charities War Child and No Strings; Girls’ Night In. This was soon followed by Girls’ Night Out, Big Night Out, Girls’ Night in 4 and Girls’ Nigh In – The Collection[10]

Jessica Adams is listed on the Tasmanian Government’s index of Significant Tasmanian Women[11] and is listed in The Who’s Who of Australian Women.

Astrology[edit]

Jessica Adams’ online horoscopes are read by more than 3 million people every year through her website jessicaadams.com[12][13] which was first launched in 1996. In 2014 Jessica Adams launched new premium content services including the Eastern Astrology forecast Chinascopes and her divination tool The Astrology Oracle. In 2020 Jessica launched her Youtube Channel – Jessica Adams Astrology.

Jessica Adams regularly appears as a guest speaker at astrology events and conferences around the globe, as well as hosting her own in-person and virtual astrology events and by the media about her astrology predictions.

Girls’ Night In & Kids’ Night In Series[edit]

In 2010 Jessica Adams along with British authors Chris Manby and Fiona Walker[14] came up with the concept of publishing a book of short stories to help raise money for charity WarChild: Girls’ Night In[15].

The Girls’ Night In concept was simple and successful: well-known authors contributed short stories for the book, with the money raised from sales to benefit those most in need: children in war affected areas around the world. It was followed by the Kids’ Night In and Funny Bones anthologies featuring many famous names in aid of WarChild including Stella McCartney and J.K.Rowling.[16]

Personal Life[edit]

Jessica currently lives in Tasmania.
