List of 2024 gaming industry layoffs

This is a list of video game companies with most job cuts in 2024. video game industry continues to witness employment declines initiated in 2023, with significant layoffs announced by major publishers like Riot Games, Microsoft Gaming, Electronic Arts, Sony Interactive Entertainment and others. Over 8,000 jobs were lost between January and February alone.[1]

Most of the job cuts occurred in North America and Europe, with video game industry in the United States being the most affected, followed by Canada, United Kingdom and Poland.[1]

Microsoft Gaming laid off the most workers, with 1,900 affected, followed by Unity Technologies with 1,800 staff, and Sony Interactive Entertainment with 900 staff. Additionally, over six studios on this list laid off their entire staff and shut down.[2][3][4]
