NRL Fantasy[edit]

NRL Fantasy is an online fantasy game that focuses on players from the NRL. The aim of the game is to score points through players in the National Rugby League. It has many different options, whether you want to go head to head against someone else or if you want to play against friends in a league or want to win overall against everyone. In Classic mode, you take on the role of a coach and choose 21 players to score points for them. Every week players are allowed to trade players for other players within their salary cap.[1]

Managing A Team[edit]

When you are controlling a team in NRL Fantasy, you are only allowed to choose certain players in certain positions. You have a total of 21 available player slots, including 3 Fullbacks/Wingers, 2 Centres, 2 Halves, 1 Hooker, 2 Edge Forwards, 3 Middle Forwards and 8 Reserves, made up of 4 Interchange Players and 4 Emergency Players. You have to make this team within the Salary Cap of $10 Million. Captains score Double Points, and if your captain does not play, the Vice Captain will take over and score Double Points. Players who are listed/and or play multiple positions can be placed in any of their listed position slots.[2][3][4]

Classic & Draft[edit]

In NRL Fantasy, there are two game modes in which you can play in. They are:

Classic[edit]

In Classic, you choose a 21-man roster, make trades during the season to increase the worth of your team, compete against your friends in head-to-head leagues, and compete for the season's biggest rewards.

and

Draft[edit]

The premise of Draft is that you organise a group of friends and conduct a live draft in which each NRL player can only be a member of one team. Your league is completely customizable, and you are free to swap players with other teams in your league at any time during the season.[5]

Leagues[edit]

In NRL Fantasy, there is an option to play in a league. A league is a group of usually 16 people who try to score more points than each other. A league can either be H-2-H (Head to Head, where you are against one different player every week) or Overall Points (where the whole League plays against each other to score more points than everyone else in the League). You can either join a Public League or create a Custom League and invite friends to join.[8]

NRL Fantasy App[edit]

NRL Fantasy is also available to play through an app, available to be downloaded on the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android). Players can access all services on the app as they can on the website.[9][10]

The NRL website has tips, predictions, notable news and price changes, in the form of videos, reports, team analysis and team list breakdowns. The NRL also has previous NRL Fantasy winners and notable names in NRL, such as Daniel Long (previous winner).[11] They post these videos and reports more than three times a week to help players learn and discover what to do with their game players.[12]
